Velo-city 2024 — Cycling culture in motion

Velo-city is the leading international conference on sustainable mobility and cycling culture. Each year, it brings together experts, policymakers, and cycling advocates from across the globe to explore innovative mobility solutions. The 2024 edition in Ghent focused on the shift of the bicycle from a sporty means of transport to an essential and inclusive sustainable mode of mobility.

With over 1,700 participants from more than 60 countries, a large-scale expo, interactive workshops, and inspiring keynotes, this four-day congress demanded flawless execution. Runmate was brought in as the Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) to manage logistics, production, and the full attendee experience.

At Runmate, we believe in running conferences with impact. For Velo-city 2024, we worked closely with the City of Ghent, De Fietsambassade, and the European Cyclists’ Federation to create an event that was not only informative but also immersive and community-driven.

• Organisation of a city-wide bike ride with over 3,000 participants
• Curation of a public-facing expo in Ghent’s historic centre, showcasing new technologies and sustainable mobility solutions
   

5. Networking event for policymakers and experts

• Exclusive networking evening hosted by Runmate for international decision-makers and business leaders
• Discussions on future collaboration and bike-friendly initiatives
