Call to Care for Animal Welfare

As part of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Call to Care for Animal Welfare symposium was organised by the Department of Environment in cooperation with the Brussels and Walloon governments. This high-level event brought together over 300 policymakers, civil servants, animal welfare organisations and stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the future of animal welfare legislation.

With keynote speakers such as EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Stella Kyriakides and Deputy Director-General Claire Bury, the symposium centred on the announcement of new legislative proposals on animal welfare, transport, and the traceability of dogs and cats.

Given the political and societal importance of the event, flawless organisation and coordination were essential.
