FPS Mobility and Transport played a key role in Belgium’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2024 and selected Runmate as Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) for the coordination of several high-level conferences and ministerial meetings.

This partnership built on a strong foundation of trust developed over the years and was marked by complexity, strict security measures, and high-profile participants. Our mission included logistical coordination and delivering a high-end experience for some of the year’s most important mobility-related events.

   • Brussels Conference on Seafarers’ Wellbeing (8 March 2024)
     1. Theme: Wellbeing and inclusivity in the maritime sector

     3. Highlight: A symbolic logbook with messages for seafarers, presented to the International Maritime Organization
   • EU Stakeholders Meeting (18 March 2024)
     1. Theme: End-of-life management of recreational vessels
     2. Location: Egmont Palace, Brussels
     3. Outcome: Key policy recommendations formulated for the EU agenda
   • Informal Council of Transport Ministers (3 – 4 April 2024)
     1. Theme: Sustainable mobility and cooperation between EU member states
     2. Location: Egmont Palace, Brussels
     3. Highlight: Signing of the Cycling Declaration, linking directly to the Velo-city Conference
   • High-level Aviation Conference (9 April 2024)
     1. Theme: Sustainable air transport and emission reduction
     2. Location: Residence Palace, Brussels
     3. Participants: 200 policymakers and representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization
   • High-level U‑SPACE Conference (10 April 2024)
     1. Theme: The future of drones and airspace management
     2. Location: Port House, Brussels
     3. Focus: Regulation and innovation in the drone industry
   • Transporting the Future (6 June 2024)
     1. Theme: Autonomous transport and technological innovation
     2. Location: Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Brussels
     3. Highlight: Private guided tour of the Magritte Museum as a closing event for the Belgian EU Presidency
